This site is to collect my personal random thoughts on life, the universe and everything in between. Some will be pure unashamed ranting, some will be experiences and other bits will be “check out this interesting article”. I’m experimenting with twitter to take the brunt of my little bits of interesting stuff and mean hopefully I’m producing interesting content a bit more frequently.
Who am I?

Australian, software engineer, wandering atheist, two wheel devotee, educator, traveller, treehugger, shit stirrer and terminally addict to the interesting stuff going on in the universe.
Work-wise I’ve worked with some great people over the years at various places in the world doing various things (from most recent):Macquarie Bank (Australia),Aon Australia, Guidewire Software (UK), Macquarie Bank (HK), CustomWare (Australia) and before that a (now merged and acquired) Solution 6 (now part of MYOB). At various times I’ve indulged in my love of educating with a stint lecturing at University of Sydney and used to tutor CS/SE subjects at University of Newcastle.
The views expressed on this site and any social media sites are my own and not as a representative of any organisation, group, drum circle or bridge club I may or may not have been involved with.
What am I up to?
Had a great couple of years back in the best country in the world, soaking up some good weather, mountain biking and beach time. Have recently jumped back into cycling to work in addition to a shiny new motorcycle for the trips to the countryside beyond the reasonable range of pedal power.
Before my return I did a bit of “lifestyle engineering” and tossed working in the UK to travel on motorbike for 6 months (UK to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco). My trusty triumph motorcycle and I survived everything from sun, snow, ice, 20 types of rain (thanks Europe for the diversity of rain I didn’t know existed!), sand, river crossings and gale force winds (that knocked out power to half of France, Spain and Morocco and knocked my bike onto my tent as a rude wakeup).

Prior to the UK I was living in Hong Kong for 18 months – 2 years and enjoyed my time there immensely. Damaging, but fun.

Nathan!!
Not sure what made me put your name into a google search, maybe boredom at work…Anyway, I bloody knew if someone was “moaning” online it would be you… And it was, Yay!
Does Facebook not provide you with a big enough outlet to rant???
Anyway, I’m jolly glad to see you have a blog/website – I’m going to get myself one now and call it something rad like everyonelovesabbie.com or abbiefabbie.com…can’t decide, the possibilities are endless.
Hope you’re well and enjoying Austrailia (what’s not to like, sun, sea, sand)
Hugs and from the UK
Abbie
