I thought this was kinda crazy and a recipe for identity theft. Take a look at what fox news demands for the convenience of sharing a story:
Fox would ask for "first born child" if there was an option.
So why exactly does it need to know everything you’ve shared, be able to send you emails, post things to your walls (the one thing it actually needs) AND access your date of birth and location information!!
Anyone who has added this app has given Murdoch’s dodgy news service the keys to your identity.
